Killian blinked, "Shit. Did I get here early?" he shook his head and moved to one of the empty tables in the back. The bottle of Johtoian whiskey he brought clanked as he sat it on the table. [break][break]

The sub doesn't bother Gavin as much as it used to; something about being present when it had nearly sank thanks to Genesect and then had a hole blasted in it by Mewtwo leaves him feeling a little more confident when there's no alarms blaring in his ears.

He still doesn't like it, but it'll do.

He's come prepared with a temperature-controlled bag, sliding it off his shoulder and extracting a bottle of Galarian scotch from within.

"There's other stuff. I raided my liquor cabinet. Go nuts."

His own definition of 'nuts' is relatively tame; he pours a glass over ice and sips it slowly.

"How's the leg?"

Killian tried not to think about the missing limb, truthfully. Tried being the keyword. The ever-reliable intrusive thought shoved it into his mind regardless. [break][break]

Cillian Quinn likely suspects it too. Mars has never been one to hide how much he enjoys a spotlight.

Mars has little voices in his head that sometimes give him cryptic messages in the form of Unown Report entries (unbeknownst to him, that of the Unown). Gavin has a psychic connection with his patron. Killian has a whole damn alien using his body as a meatsuit. One of these things is not like the others.

He finds himself having to pause after taking a sip from his glass, barely allowed to savour the floral notes of gin before his attention falls upon his oldest friend and colleague.

”You good?” Clearly not. A mental note is made about Deoxys distaste for alcohol, just in case that information is ever needed. ”Maybe it just doesn’t like Johtonian whiskey. Understandable.”

"If you want a kick to your liquor, you should try this." Smirking, Gavin gestures with his half-drank glass of scotch. It was his favourite Galarian brand, the stronger stuff. He knows Killian Decker speaks in jest, though, so doesn't press it.

A sharp bark of laughter echoes in his glass. "Arceus. What'd the Porygon do?" Perhaps what did Lulu do might be an equally apt question; he knows the two have had their differences, just as he and the then-admin once had.

When asked about Temp, his expression is momentarily morose at the thought of his husband's injuries before the mention of marriage softens it.

"No secrets among thieves, eh?" But he's smiling, holding up his left hand to let the Luvdisc ring catch the light. "We figured we may as well seal the deal before the meteor fucks up our wedding plans. He's recovering well." Thankfully.

The potential for disaster in that combination is undeniable.

At least the topic of Gavin and Tempest Quinn’s wedding is a brighter one, and even Mars smiles faintly into his glass before taking another sip. They’re both among the few people who he considers to be his close friends, so it’s good to see them together and happy. Even if the thought of weddings sometimes can be… bittersweet.

”At least something good came out of this whole meteor mess, huh?” He smirks, raising his glass in a quick ’To Gavin and Temp’. ”I’m glad to hear he’s doing well. I haven’t had the time to go visit. Bet being stuck at home must be driving him insane.”

He guzzled his drink, letting the burn settle in his chest before reaching for the scotch. Time to see if Gavin was telling the truth. [break][break]

The sight of the ring parts his lips in a smile. "Cute." would Alexandra Briarwood want similar wedding rings for them? Killian rubbed at his engagement ring. They hadn't discussed marriage plans since he proposed. Too many things kept getting in the way. [break][break]

"Can't blame it," he says of Deoxys, shrugging. "Not sure I like being a guinea pig myself."

Yet he has allowed Rocket to poke and prod and test his limits, because loyalty and obedience toward the organization runs bone-deep.

"It hasn't been great." Not because his lover was getting on his nerves, but because it killed him to see Tempest Quinn bedridden during one of the summer's most anticipated events. His brow furrows at Killian Decker's observation. "Really? Why not?"

He doesn't seem offended; he's curious, if anything.

Noticing the ring as Killian rubs at it, he asks, "Are you two planning to tie things up before the meteor?"
